The Blue Bus Project is pleased to present RE(F)USE ME! From reclaimed objects to artistic treasures, a series of sustainable art workshops for the youth and seniors of Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement and the members of its community.

Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement is a community based non-profit organization that offers comprehensive services to the youth, adults, seniors and families in the Western Queens community. The resources, opportunities and support we provide serve as a catalyst for community members to reach their greatest potential and achieve social and economic self-sufficiency.

The Re(f) USE ME ! From reclaimed objects to artistic treasure-Workshops! will involve the children and seniors in the creation of artistic treasures with reclaimed object aimed at raising public awareness on recycling and re-purposing materials. The workshops' main goal is to stir up a conversation about waste and, through art, to motivate participants to think about their environment and how to collectively get involved in their community.

The workshops will run from Sep14th to Oct 1st outside Jacob A. Riis Neighborhood Settlement at 10-25 41st Avenue Long Island City. During the workshops the participants will create artworks that will be presented in a final exhibition in The Blue Bus.
